Landing on the highway

Now this is something you don't see every day on your way down to the coast.
Just before 9 p.m. a pilot and his passenger had to make an emergency landing on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of I-37S near S. New Braunfels.

...

The chopper pilot told emergency responders he had to land abruptly because a bird flew through the aircraft's windshield.

The pilot and his passenger were treated on-site for minor injuries.

A tow truck was called to haul the helicopter away.

There was a wreck on that same stretch of IH-37 earlier in the day, too. We'd have been right in the thick of that had we not heard about the wreck on the radio. That part of the freeway must have been cursed yesterday or something. LOL
