A man walking on East Dewey Street just west of Ogden Place found a body in the bushes this morning.(from the Express-News)
The decomposing body was behind a vacant house. Police spokesman officer Matt Porter said little was known about the man found, but foul play was not suspected.
That's by San Antonio College. And guess what alerted the passer-by to the body's presence. The smell.
No word on whether this was a homeless person, but they found drug paraphernalia near the body, which seems to suggest a drug-related death in a spot out of the way enough so that the dead man was not noticed right away. Not until a few days later, at least.

I live across the street from the vacant house. I remember the smell while walking back from San Antonio College on wednesday, but thought it was just a broken sewer line or something. Guess I was wrong.
