Providing fair warning

Looks like it's working out to be a pretty good deterrent.

No matter what Charles Earnhardt tried, nothing seemed to work. In the past six months his shop has been burglarized nearly 20 times.

So, with a little sense of humor, Earnhardt sent out a serious message which he posted in front of his shop: "Attention thieves -- I sleep here 4 out of 7 days with my shotgun. You guess which one."

Since putting up the sign a month ago Earnhardt Automotive has not been burglarized once.
