SAN ANTONIO -- A Kerr County Grand Jury indicted 16 people Monday in connection with the slaying and identity theft of a Kerr County man.
Charles Lee Tidwell, 45, was indicted on a charge of murder and organized crime. Tidwell was being held in the Kerr County Jail on bonds totalling $600,000.
Tidwell, who was arrested Oct. 22, was originally the only suspect charged in the slaying of 52-year-old Allan Kowalski, whose remains were found buried behind his home in Ingram.
But in a news release from the Kerr County Sheriff's Office, Ricado Ricky Giovannetti, 47, was also charged with murder and organized crime.
Charged with aggravated assault and organized crime were Wayne Earl Christiansen, 35, and Jeremiah Jason McGregor, 31.
Indicted on a charge of organized crime were Teresa Jo Buffett, 43; Elizabeth D. Carmona, 43; Amanda Rassi Contreras, 20; Raymundo Daniel Contreras, 23; Andrea Helen Cooper, 25; Michael Rene Garcia, 25; Richard Alcorta Garza, 39; Silver Star Hernandez, 24; Darita Dee Horner, 20; Kelli Rae Lagrone, 52; John Centeno Moreno Jr., 26, and Lisa Gale Rassi, 41.
Kerr County Sheriff Rusty Hierholzer said the investigation into Kowalski's death is one of the strangest cases he's worked in nearly 30 years of law enforcement.
"They take over his identity, they take over all his possessions, they were even trying to sell his home," he said. "That's when it gets bizarre."
Hierholzer said Tidwell and Giovannetti shot Kowalski twice in the head before burying his body in a shallow grave behind his home. The common bond between all those indicted was their close relationship or friendship with Tidwell, Hierholzer said.

Is it surprising that so many women were involved?
And who names their child "Silver Star"?

It's not surprising to me so many women were involved... haven't you ever watched that show Snapped on Oxygen??? There are some crazy women out there!!!
And the name Silver Star... his/her parents could've given him/her that name... or they could've changed it themselves. Then one should pose the question... why would you want that name? Makes me think of that movie The Lost Boys where that girl's name was Star. lol
I must admit that I've never seen "Snapped", but, from your comment, I assume it chronicles women who have gone off the deep end. (And visited violence on others, maybe?)
As for The Lost Boys, the one thing I remember the most from that movie (SPOILER WARNING!) is that the main vampire guy was killed when he fell onto the trophy of an antelope and was impaled on the animal's horn. I thought that was a bit cheesy.
Wood! Only sharp wooden implements should kill vampires, not animal horn! Granted, vampires are fantastical creatures, but there are certain rules that should not be violated when portraying them in film. In fact, Alan from Blogonomicon pointed to an article that complained about something very similar: fast zombies.
Zombies should not run, and vampires should not be felled by keratin.
Does anyone else see the total loss of focus in regard to the contents of the mentioned article, between the prior two comments? I could certainly imagine the jurors "Kels" & "Albatross" would make! Guilty until proven otherwise!!
I don't think people should be judging, because someone labeled with those defiling people was innocent. She was taking chemo shots and couldn't get out of bed. She was only involved because a couple of the boys. (one she has known since he was a kid) had placed a car on he rproperty and hid guns under her couch. She disn't know they were there & certainly didn't think someone so close to her would do that to her. it truly digust me that her name is even there, she shouldn't be labeled with such trashed out methheads. Kelli rae lagrone is innocent and was one of the first to get charges dropped. She was just a good older woman who thought she was helping simeone she knew by letting him place his car on ther property. She has never been to the house the man was murder at, and couldn't tell you anything about it. Such a shame to see her name up there for people all over to judge when they dont know the full story.
