"Police say teens responsible for damaging sewer lines"

The Express-News reports on some persistent vandals.

Amid the stench, San Antonio Water System employees work to replace a stretch of sewage pipe. On Friday, vandals unbolted the manhole and stuffed stumps, large rocks and even a mangled car door into the system.

"The sewage was just spewing out and just flowing down into Salado Creek. Just gallons and gallons of it," neighbor Tania Walshe said.

Retaliation seems to be a theme. SAWS workers say a tree stump pulled out of the pipeway on Sunday was found back in the hole Monday.

If these kids keep doing this, sooner or later they will be caught. And I don't think the neighbors will be feeling too kindly toward them.
