Oh, and today? It's the 28th anniversary of Ozzy's act of pissing while pissed, thereby pissing off the City of San Antonio. (As remembered by San Antonio Remembers.)
Wasn't he officially forgiven recently? I know he has expressed regret about it. Something like, "I knew when I found myself standing in the middle of downtown wearing a woman's dress and urinating in public that it was time to stop drinking."
Yeah, pretty much. The city lifted its ban and welcomed him back, and I think he tried to get sober at around that time. But it didn't stick. It wasn't until a few years later when, on a bender, he tried to choke his wife that he really took a look at what he was doing. I don't think he ever completely dried up, but he knew he really had a problem at that point.
