A man was struck by a car after police say he ran into traffic on the West Side early Saturday.(from WOAI-TV)
Investigators say the 27-year-old man, who was wearing only his underwear, appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic when he ran into the street at Guadalupe Street and Chupaderas around 12:20 a.m. A driver in a Toyota Camry tried to avoid hitting the man by swerving into another lane, but the man continued running and ended up in the path of the car.
Oh, and stay out of the street, too.
Bonus strangeness: The existence of a street in San Antonio called "Chupaderas"!
¡Puro!

Been there. It's one of those west side streets that looks like it started out as an alley and someone decided to pave it and call it a street. Lots of those over there.
There's also a Chupaderas Creek out my way on highway 87.
Pants are overrated.
I was thinking that a Chupaderas was a cousin of la Chupacabras, but more like a deer with mange instead of a coyote with mange. My wife informs me though, that it may actually translate to the act of sucking sorta like you were sucking on a lollipop.
Suddenly, I understand why the man was wandering around sans pants.
I do believe the origin is related to lollipops (a loose translation is "thing that you suck"), but you can see how that term easily slid into the realm of double entendre a long, long time ago.
