It's pretty nasty what happened to the kittens in
this story from KSAT-TV (they were thrown out of a moving car), but I found the choice of words used by the headline writer to be poor. I don't know if the writer was trying to be cute by playing on the multiple meanings of "
litter", but, given the nature of the offender's conduct, this probably wouldn't be a good story on which to demonstrate linguistic prowess.
